August 1 It is not faith that needs increase. It is knowledge. For this cause we also, ...do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding …Colossians 1.9

August 2 Have faith in God. Eternal life is knowing the one true God by faith that comes from grace. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. John 17.3

August 3 Receive the Person of the gospel and you’ll walk in the promise of the gospel. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1.12

August 4 Trace the grace in your day. Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5.20b, 21

August 5 We live in the tension between time on our hands and eternity in our hearts. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.   1 John 2.17

August 6 Jesus didn’t send the Holy Spirit to make us comfortable, but to comfort us in our sufferings. Blesssed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation... 1 Corinthians 1.3, 4a

August 7 “Rugged individuals” haven’t been crucified at the old rugged cross. The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we  being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.  1 Corinthians 10.16b, 17

August 8 Live with others in interdependence on Christ. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 1 Corinthians 12.12

August 9 Jesus entered the world that sinners might encounter truth. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1.14

August 10 Sinners sin until Christ steps in. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6.23

August 11 Christians are aliens and strangers to the world, so prepare to be watched closely! I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.   John 17.15, 16

August 12 Nature determines appetite. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1.4

August 13 Which rules: law on the outside or life on the inside? For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3.3, 4

August 14 Do you know where you are in the pursuit of your goals? Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.   Philippians 3.12

August 15 Jesus has power to bring everything under His control. We look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. Philippians 3.21

August 16 Know whose you are and whom you serve. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve...Acts 27.23

August 17 Enter today naked of the past, clothed with the promise, armed with humility. Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 3.13, 14

August 18 Dwell on where you’re headed, not on where you’ve been. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Colossians 3.1

August 19 Know where you’re headed and take the next step. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3.2

August 20 Though imperfect ourselves, we expect perfection out of others. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3.23

August 21 Correct others as you would like to be corrected. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.Galatians 6.1

August 22 God in Christ Jesus takes hold of us. Take hold of Him. I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.   Philippians 3.12

August 23 Know where you are, who you are, whose you are, and where you’re headed. Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God...for obedience to the faith among all nations, for His name... Romans 1.1, 5

August 24 Touching God in prayer touches others in power. I pray for them.  John 17.9

August 25 Faith is belief that motivates to action. ...I will show thee my faith by my works. James 2.18

August 26 Call upon God now. Don’t wait until the day of trouble. In You, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline Your ear unto me, and save me.   Psalm 71.1, 2

August 27 Center your “self” in Christ. When the world crashes around you, the peace of Christ remains within you. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4.7

August 28 Stop denying God. Say, “I belong.” Now you are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 1 Corinthians 12.27

August 29 Being a part of a greater whole increases individual significance. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. 1 Corinthians 12.13, 14

August 30 Accept diversity to avoid division in the Body. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit...But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 1 Corinthians 12.4, 7

August 31 Be content. Look to the stores at hand. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for He has said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13.5
